Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary Tour
First, we pick you up from İzmir Alsancak Dokuz Eylül Rectorate at 12:30 PM and head towards Selçuk. After a break on the way, we arrive in Selçuk and have our lunch consisting of Çöp Şiş Kebab + Soup + Salad + Dessert. Our first visit is to the House of the Virgin Mary, located 9 km away on Mount Bülbül. Discovered by Lazarist priests in 1891, the church was recognized as a Christian pilgrimage site after Pope Paul VI’s visit in 1967. Visitors who consider the site sacred leave their prayer notes on the Wishing Wall and drink water from the Holy Fountain. We then proceed to Ephesus, an ancient metropolis made entirely of marble. With our guide, we explore remarkable ruins such as the Temple of Hadrian, Temple of Domitian, Temple of Serapis, Church of the Virgin Mary, Upper Agora and Basilica, Odeon, City Hall, Baths, public toilets, and the Celsus Library, which served as both a mausoleum and a library, along with the well-preserved Great Theatre. After completing our Ephesus & House of the Virgin Mary Tour, we return to İzmir, arriving at 8:00 PM. Drop-off points include Alsancak Rectorate, Alsancak, and Basmane hotels. Upon request, we can also drop you off at İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport. We bid farewell and look forward to seeing you on another MT Tour journey.
